Customs and import (AZ)

Import declaration, corridor, commodity code, duty and VAT - closing the gap between goods arriving and the production plan.

The problem

When the declaration sits at customs, production waits

An import document usually shuttles between the broker and the accountant: one knows the declaration, the other the cost. On the shop floor there is only one question - when will the material arrive.

When release is delayed the production plan slips, and nobody sees it coming: the declaration's corridor is not in the system, it is in the broker's correspondence.

How it works

The declaration is tied to the order

Every declaration is linked to a purchase order: goods, commodity code, customs value, duty rate, duty, fee and VAT on one card.

The corridor and the release date are there too - so a delay appears as a risk, not as a fact. The full cost of the import enters the cost of the goods; the question "the material was cheap but customs made it expensive" is answered with numbers.

Are chemicals tracked separately?

Yes - they carry their own codes and restrictions, so they are kept on a separate list.
