When the safety report is written at year end
Occupational safety figures are usually gathered at year end, for the report. Until then incidents sit in separate records and no picture emerges.
What a decision needs is the opposite: in which department, at what severity, and how many working days were lost.
Log the incident, the indicator follows
Every incident is recorded with department, severity, working days lost and whether the training had been given.
The indicators are calculated from those records - no separate spreadsheet is needed. Attendance and turnover appear in the same section, broken down by department.
